Girls in Gear does the Five Boro!
Girls in Gear has been selected as a charity partner for the 2024 TD Five Boro Bike Tour on Sunday, May 5. This thrilling event allows cyclists of all skill levels from around the world to come together and ride 40 miles through all five boroughs of New York City. For one day, the city streets and bridges are yours!
As a charity partner, your commitment is simple. We will provide you with your bib and a Girls in Gear jersey, and in turn, you will commit to raising $1,000 for Girls in Gear. We will help you set up your own personalized fundraising page to share with your networks, and we will be there every step of the way to answer questions and provide support.

PROGRAM COSTS
Beyond our no-question-asked scholarship policy, we are committed to keeping our registration fee low in order to ensure that everyone has a chance to ride with us. Your support will help support the program costs not covered by each registration fee.
Volunteer coaches
Coaches are the heartbeat of our program! Your donation will help support our enthusiastic volunteers and ensure they continue to have access to the best training, curricula, program supplies, and staff support.

We collect used bikes from the community that then go to our bike shop partners. This way, we are providing a sustainable solution to scaling our program in a way that doesn't require constantly raising money for new bikes, utilizes the generosity of community partners, and finds homes for existing bikes.
