REGIONAL BOARDS

Girls in Gear Regional Boards expand the awareness of our programs, increase diversity within our volunteer community, and raise essential funds to support our work wherever we have programming. As a Regional Board member, you’ll have the opportunity to connect and network with professionals who share a passion for Girls in Gear’s mission, represent the organization at community and networking events in your region, and engage directly with our riders through volunteer opportunities.

As a REGIONAL BOARD MEMBER, you’ll…

  • Promote Girls in Gear among your personal and professional networks.

  • Represent Girls in Gear at community events.

  • Help recruit new coaches and volunteers.

  • Support Girls in Gear fundraising events, including attending and sharing invitations with personal and professional networks.

  • Attend quarterly meetings, usually held virtually.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Anyone passionate about girls having the opportunity to activate their limitless potential and confidently pursue their dreams can be a regional board member! We welcome Girls in Gear alumnae, current and past coaches, parents of Girls in Gear participants – and anyone who wants to get involved in supporting our mission.

  • Regional board members will use their passion and skills to support the organization in ways that align with their interests. They will represent Girls in Gear at community outreach events, help raise funds, take on leadership roles planning events, share news and calls to action on social media, and recruit new coaches to expand the program’s reach.

  • Regional board members are expected to commit to a one-year term, but most continue past that. They are responsible for upholding Girls in Gear’s core values and gaining a strong understanding of the program to confidently represent the organization. Regional Board members should participate in at least three out of four quarterly meetings each year, which may be held in person or virtually. Additionally, they are expected actively seek ways to promote Girls in Gear within their communities
